2026.04 - Last month I mostly listened to...

April was hectic as far as music goes, I struggled to get on top of the amount of new releases while also listening to the ones I’ve found interesting with any amount of attention.
Cool new acquitances were We Stood Like Kings, Troy the Band and Phantom Logic latter of whom caught my eye with the blurb “Isaiah Mitchell of Earthless” on one of their release info sheets. I still don’t know what his involvement is but it worked.
Also trippy psych band Vestjysk Ørken and mysterious 🜍 (a.k.a. Sulfur, apparently) from the ever reliable Psychedelic Source Records community, whom do not have much of an online presence outside Bandcamp.

I’m reading “Instrumental Forever: The Story of Karma to Burn” by Justin Johnson, which obviously has had an impact and thusly K2B is on the top spot. I hihgly recommend you check out their self titled album, specificly the 2012 version that’s also know as “Karma To Burn: Slight Reprise", which is the remastered debut album which they’ve deleted the vocals from. The american branch of Roadrunner records forced them to find a singer and refused to release if before they have one, even if they’d been playing, released an 4 track EP few as suchyears before and most importantly making a name as an instrumental band.

First friday of the month came real fast, so Doom Charts for April is already out, be sure to check out what the community listened and how it compares to my listens. As always, my recommendation to said list was wholly comprised of new releases, thus all of the older stuff I listened are obviously missing there.
